PETERSBURG – Upper Township Committee rapidly deployed technology to hold its scheduled March 23 meeting virtually because of social distancing and stay-at-home orders associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Governor Murphy gave the green light late Friday evening (March20) that municipalities could, and should, use virtual meeting formats, so we believe we are among the first, if not the actual first, municipality in the state to implement this type of meeting,” Mayor Richard Palombo said. “I want to commend our city clerk, Barb Young, and engineer, Paul Dietrich, working with many others of our municipal team to get this virtual meeting up so quickly and effectively.”
