DIAS CREEK – Firefighters from five fire companies responded to a structure fire, June 1, at 36 Route 47, in Dias Creek.
When crews arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the first floor of the two-story home.
According to Middle Township Fire Company No. 1’s Facebook page, all the occupants made it out safe and fire crews were able to knock down the fire quickly after arrival.
Middle Township Police Department shut down Route 47 for about an hour in both directions between Hand Avenue and Dias Creek Road while the fire was being extinguished.
Fire companies from Stone Harbor, Rio Grande, Green Creek and Goshen provided mutual aid. The American Red Cross was also on the scene to assist the family.
