WILDWOOD CREST – A 43-year-old Philadelphia woman bit the hand of a Wildwood Crest police officer as she resisted arrest on various charges, police said.

Police officers Frederick Palmer, Logan Burke, and Detective Sgt. James Mulholland responded to a call on Monday, June 17, at around 2:30 p.m., at a motel in the 6200 block of Ocean Avenue for the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, witnesses told police a highly intoxicated woman, identified as Fallan Turner, was out of control in the pool. Officers were told Turner grabbed a juvenile, 10, who was not related to her and swung him around in the pool, dunking him underwater. As the juvenile’s father attempted to intervene, she jumped on his back and grabbed him inappropriately.

When officers were interviewing Turner, she allegedly became belligerent and was placed under arrest. While being handcuffed police said Turner was uncooperative and combative toward officers, resisted arrest and pushed the arresting officer in the face. Police said she continued in this manner during processing at Wildwood Crest Police Department headquarters and bit an officer’s hand. Neither of these officers sustained significant injury.

Turner was charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child; two counts of third-degree aggravated assault on law enforcement; third-degree resisting arrest with force; fourth-degree criminal sexual contact; failure to allow fingerprinting – a disorderly persons offense; two counts of harassment – a petty disorderly persons offense; and disorderly conduct – also a petty disorderly persons offense.

Turner was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center pending court proceedings.
