‘Pedalcyclist’ Struck By Vehicle Near Lower Township Hall

VILLAS – The Lower Township Police Department said a “pedalcyclist” was struck by a car in the area of Veterans Way (formerly Station Road) and Bayshore Road near Township Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

The call came in just after 11 p.m. reporting a pedestrian had been hit by a motor vehicle. The caller told police dispatch that the pedestrian was unconscious and unresponsive. When officers arrived, they began triage on the patient and secured the scene.

Bayshore Road was closed from Wildwood Avenue to the area of Fishing Creek Road. The Lower Township Police Department put out a traffic advisory asking people to avoid the area.

The pedalcyclist was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Trauma Center. The matter remains under investigation by the Lower Township Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and no further information was available.
