To The Editor:
It is unbelievable that a freeholder who actually cares about the taxpayers is now subject to the sneaky wrath of his colleague.
Freeholder Gerald Thornton had the audacity to disagree with the purchase of the Beesley’s Point Bridge built in 1928 at a taxpayer cost, so far, of $32 million. The politicians who put this burden on us were Sen. Jeff Van Drew and Freeholder Dan Beyel.
We the taxpayers should remember this at election time, providing Van Drew and the head of the Democratic Party do not make a deal to prevent someone from running for freeholder again.
Looking ahead, we need Thornton. I urge everyone who cares about their tax burden, Republican or Democrat, to get out and vote for Freeholder Gerald Thornton. Vote his colleague out for the betterment of Cape May County.
