To the Editor:
One minute you are walking toward ShopRite. The next you are down on your knees, hugging a movie-dispensing machine for support. That is what happened to my husband Friday morning, July 29.
Then several people went into action. One man helped me lift my husband. Another called 911. And a woman performed CPR. These good Samaritans saved my husband’s life. Within minutes, paramedics and ambulance personnel arrived to help stabilize him. Then off we went to the hospital.
The situation was dynamic and I did not think to ask the names of the good Samaritans. But I hope they read this testament of my appreciation and know that each day until my last, I will think of them and their full measure of goodness.
My husband and I wish also to express our admiration and appreciation for the excellent care given him by the paramedics and the ambulance corps people who dedicate their lives to rescuing those in need of emergency care. Finally, the staff of Cape Regional Medical Center has been superlative. What devoted, thorough, and gracious people! We applaud them all: admissions, kitchen, and housekeeping staffs, technicians, nurses, doctors. The community is fortunate indeed to have such exceptional health care workers and professionals.
