To the Editor:
What is fetal tissue? Fetal tissue is a term that is used by defenders of abortion to disguise the true nature of what is actually growing in a mother’s womb during her pregnancy. Let’s take a closer look at what fetal tissue really looks like. After 18 days from conception the fetal tissue heart begins to beat with the fetal tissue’s own blood. Twenty-eight days from conception the fetal tissue has ears, eyes and even a tongue. Also, at 28 days muscles are developing along the future spine. Arms and legs are budding. In 30 days, the fetal tissue now has a brain with human proportions. Blood flows in the veins. In 42 days, brain waves can be detected, the jaw forms, including teeth and taste buds. Fingers and toes are developing. Forty-five days from conception, buds of milk teeth appear, facial muscles develop, eyelids begin to form, elbows take shape and internal organs are present but immature. Should I go on? You get the picture. Fetal tissue is a baby, a human being that deserves the same right to life protection that is ours under our laws.
And fetal tissue is what Planned Parenthood is trafficking in; the deliberate destruction of babies in the womb and the sale of their body parts. Forget the smokescreen of the wonderful things Planned Parenthood is doing for women’s health care. There are about 9,000 clinics in the United States that provide for women’s health care. Only about 1,000 are Planned Parenthood clinics. We can provide for women’s health needs without Planned Parenthood. Defund them. Close them down. Even more important than that is the need to reverse Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. Technological advances have enabled us to clearly understand the development of a child in the womb from conception to birth. In 1973, if the Supreme Court justices had access to that technology, Roe probably never would have become the law of the land. We know that from the moment of conception the formation of a baby is under way. It is not simply fetal tissue. Pray for those who have engaged in this practice. There is forgiveness for the truly repentant.
Please talk to your freeholders. Talk to your state assemblymen and senators. Call the governor. The time has come to end this national horror that we know as abortion; the killing of babies.
