This is in response to the person who wrote in about the feral cats in Avalon. Research has shown that it is not the cats that are endangering the shore birds, it is people. The noise, pollution, and presence of people has disturbed nesting sites and habitats of these birds. Maybe we need to trap the tourists and take them to the CMC Animal Shelter instead. The poor cats have a rough enough life as it is. Let’s give them a break.
