To the Editor:
As my congressional representative, I find Frank LoBiondo’s lack of response to the mass murder in Las Vegas to be shocking. He has an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA) and accepts contributions from the NRA.
The SHARE Act is once again going to be considered in the House of Representatives, and when I asked for the congressman’s stand on it, he said he doesn’t have one. It is being touted as a bill for gun silencers, to protect hunter’s hearing, which I find absurd.
The SHARE Act is filled with the removal of numerous gun protection laws, and if hunters need to have their hearing protected while hunting, they could certainly use the type of ear protection used at a shooting range.
Are our military provided with gun silencers to protect their hearing? What about their ears?
In light of just the latest mass murder by a man with a large cache of guns and ammunition, the fact that Congressman LoBiondo has no stand on the SHARE Act, which weakens even more gun safety laws, I find abhorrent! It is past time for the NRA to stop dictating the votes of our representatives in Congress.
It is time for Congressman LoBiondo to retire in 2018. He said when he first ran, Congressman Hughes had been in office far too long. Congressman LoBiondo, you have been in office far too long.
