To The Editor:
On July 12, President Obama told CBS Evening News Anchor, Scott Pelley that unless the deficit issue is resolved in the coming weeks, he cannot guarantee Social Security recipients will be paid as of Aug. 3. It is obviously time for him to resign the role of President.
In the first place, the is-sue that is in question is raising the debt ceiling which may include deficit spending, but is more extensive in its scope. The second issue is his depravity in using this tactic of scaring seniors and others dependent on Social Security payments, instead of leading the way to a resolution. He has chosen to abdicate his responsibility as a leader in the role of president of the United States; it is time for him to resign.
