To The Editor;
Some political activists could be called “political terrorists” in some quarters of today’s society. Veiled and actual threats, verbal and physical intimidations, in-your-face rhetoric and shouting, profanity and insulting slurs are all too common. Gone are the days of intelligent disagreement and civil discussions of different viewpoints. The end game today is to destroy your opposition, drag his/her family through the mud, use the courts to shatter lives, and say the most vile and despicable things even if they are not true. This is done with the consent and assistance of a media that is no longer the watchdog of our government, but is frenetically engaged in cheering for a particular political ideology. Are we aware that our children and grandchildren are watching and learning?
This is an election year and somewhere in the boardrooms, back rooms, bedrooms, dingy caverns and coffee dens across our nation, activists gather to construct ways to oppose any efforts to prevent voter fraud and to bend interpretations of law to subordinate religious freedom to secularism. Well-organized and well funded certain political activists take a “win at any cost” approach to local, state and federal elections. Of course money is at the root of such barbaric tactics; who gets it, who has it, who earns it, who steals it, who takes from one and gives to another and who selfishly pockets it.
The actions of some “political terrorists” are never revealed in the media unless the corruption gets so bad that not even the media can keep it quiet, and even then it is downplayed if it involves people beloved by the media. Conversely, corruption or even the hint of it by anyone on the media’s “enemies list” is highlighted and covered extensively for weeks on end.
Fueled by money and enraged by lies and hatred for patriotism and people of deep religious faith, certain political activists in backrooms, boardrooms, back alleys, coffee dens and news rooms often prepare social and political tactics designed to institute European-style socialism. Their biggest obstacle, however, is the vast number of Americans who do not share their ideology or vision for America, and that is why this election is vital and pivotal for the nation’s future. And yes, our children and grandchildren are still watching and learning.
