To the Editor:
In response to Editor Al Campbell’s column in the Aug. 8 Herald, I think he is forgetting the jobs that the extension of Route 55 would bring to the area, which is an already job-strained area, because there’s no industry.
The road will open up the area for more tourism, which is basically its only industry. A train is cute, but no substitute.
Jobs are the heartbeat of our country. It’s the only thing that makes life happen.
