To the Editor:
Life begins at conception. No exceptions. Whether Catholic or not, many Americans feel this way, but if Catholic, and you support abortion, I suggest you read the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections No. 2270 and 2271. They make it abundantly clear that “life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: Abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.”
So, for you Catholic politicians who support abortion and want to think of yourself as “devout,” do your homework. I do not like that you support abortion; I like even less that you call yourself “devout.” You betray your faith.
I applaud the courage of our Supreme Court and pray they stand firm and overturn Roe v. Wade, and then relegate that infamous decision to the trash right next to the Dred Scott and Plessy decisions. I only wish it had been done sooner.
Whether the justices who support the demise of Roe v. Wade are Catholic or not, I pray they weather the storm and do what is moral and right. Have courage! There are many who are praying for you.
By the way, when we “storm” churches, we do so to attend services and pray for these heroes of the Supreme Court, and not like those who “storm” to disrupt those very services.
