‘Battle Between Liberals and Conservatives Being Fiercely Fought’

By Hollis

To The Editor;
When Barrack Obama was elected as president in 2008, liberals celebrated but conservatives did not. A hush filled with anxious foreboding and skepticism fell over conservative America. Some objected to Obama’s presidency because he was black. However the vast amount of conservative saw Obama as just another far-left Democrat with socialistic leanings. During Obama’s first four years he proved them right by immediately pushing far left strategies and ideologies.
In 2012 Barrack Obama was re-elected as president. The left was again jubilant and celebratory. But for conservatives the fear and foreboding that they felt in 2008 gave way to dread, panic and eventually anger. Not the type of anger so often displayed by left wing groups, but anger at themselves for not outvoting liberals and for not doing more to stop voter fraud. Anger also served as a wake up call for conservatives, especially Christian conservatives as deliberate attacks on Christians were greatly ramped up by the Obama administration.
There are daily clashes between liberals and conservatives and if one was to judge the status of these clashes by what is reported in the media, it would seem victory belongs to the left. America, however, is a very large country and resistance to liberal ideology is found in many places. The media purposely overlooks the resistance in these enclaves in order to paint a picture that little or no resistance actually exists.
The battle between liberals and conservatives, wrong and right, patriotism and socialism, absolute moral values and secular moral relativism is being fiercely fought. It is vicious, unforgiving and casualties are high. It is not a war that just begun; it has been raging for many years. Today, however, the availability of instant communication allows real time coverage of the stark nakedness of conflict and spoilage to such a degree that it would seem the country is only a surprise flashpoint away from becoming Beirut, Libya or Greece.
Talking heads and so-called experts are on television everyday trying to guess where the country is headed and what it will look like when it gets there. Despite their degrees and pedigree they are guessing at best. At some point in this battle, like in many battles before, there will come a pivotal point that will determine America’s future. Let’s hope it pivots to the right.
