To the Editor:
I have something I’d like people to think about.
It is because of God we should oppose abortion. If God were not love, if He did not care, if we did not belong to Him as our Creator, we could kill for convenience. But He is real. He made the rose bud lips of a sleeping baby; He loves those lips, too. It would be so easy to snuff out that tender life. Who will know, remember, or care? God will. He is hurt by our selfishness and murder.
Can I tell you something about God though? He’s angry because of the abortion He sees, but because of Jesus, He isn’t going to stay angry at us if we reach out to Him. He is running towards us with open arms and wants to be close to us. We’ve got to be real with Him about the selfish things we have done that hurt Him and are between us. That includes supporting abortion.
I’m getting to know God better. Because we are friends what hurts Him hurts me too. He talks to me through His love letter, the Bible, and I talk to Him in prayer. I ask Him to bring an end to Planned Parenthood almost every day.
