To the Editor:
U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew owes his constituents an open forum. There is no reason for the continued fear of meeting the people he represents. His new party and his old party deserve open, unfiltered discussions on the issues.
Find a venue somewhere in the center of the district, and set a time so that working people, seniors, disabled, and everyone can attend.
If he truly represents all the people in the district, then he must have an open forum with all of the people.
Democracy is messy. Democracy is not staged rallies. Democracy is more about listening than hollering.
Unless he shows the guts to talk to all of his people in an open microphone question and answer manner, then he will never get my vote.
I hope others agree. Call Van Drew’s office and ask that he schedule a town hall meeting as soon as possible. His number is 609-625-5008. Keep democracy alive.
