One Arrested After Stabbing in Wildwood

WILDWOOD – The Wildwood Police Department announced the arrest of an Andrews Avenue man on charges related to the stabbing of another on Sunday, Dec. 3.

Police were called to the residence in the 100 block of Andrews Avenue at approximately 1:48 a.m., Dec. 3, for a reported stabbing. When police arrived, they found Juan Vidal-Salinas, 30, of Wildwood, who was a suspect in the stabbing. Vidal-Salinas was quickly taken into custody for not complying with the officer’s instructions, police said.

During a search Vidal-Salinas was found to be in possession of a folding knife covered in blood, police said. Shortly thereafter police located a 25-year-old male victim with multiple wounds to his face, neck, head and abdomen, who was found inside a multi-apartment dwelling, police said, adding that the victim was transported to the trauma center at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center due to the seriousness of his injuries. Police said the victim is in stable condition and recovering from his injuries at the hospital.

After further investigation by the Wildwood Police Department Detective Division and Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Vidal-Salinas was charged with first-degree criminal attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth-degree obstruction.

Vidal-Salinas was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
