Woodbine Station Troopers Respond to Fatal MVA

By Press Release

WOODBINE — On Oct. 25, 2016, Woodbine Station Troopers were dispatched to US 9 at the intersection with Church Road in Upper Township, Cape May County, in reference to a motor vehicle accident.
A 2003 Ford F250 was traveling north on US 9 and was struck head-on by a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer who was attempting to avoid a white box truck (unknown make or model). The box truck made a right hand turn off of Church Road, pulling out into traffic, causing the Chevrolet to swerve, subsequently creating a head-on collision with the Ford F250. Both vehicles then went off the roadway, striking the curb in front of Seaside Cemetery.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Edith Ruh (age 76 of Sea Isle City, NJ), suffered severe injuries and was transported to Atlantic Care Regional Trauma Center for treatment. The passenger of the Chevrolet, Blanche Mazurie (age 84 of Sea Isle City, NJ), was also transported to Atlantic Care Regional Trauma Center and later succumbed to her injuries on Oct. 27, 2016. The driver of the Ford F250, Thomas Schuler (age 35 of Upper Township, NJ), suffered minor injuries and was transported to Shore Memorial Hospital.
