COURT HOUSE – The identity of the male and female who were discovered in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township July 8 have been identified as John Clohessy, 53, and Carrie Clohessy, 41, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Middle Township Police Chief Chris Leusner announced July 10. Both individuals were homeless at the time of their deaths.
On July 10, an autopsy was performed on both individuals by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and the preliminary report indicates that there were no signs of trauma to either body and the final results are pending toxicology results.
Prosecutor Taylor and Chief Leusner report that this is an ongoing investigation by the Major Crimes Unit of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Middle Township Police Department.
