Turkey & Spaghetti Sandwiches at Stone Harbor Elementary

By On Deck Staff

As part of Boar’s Head’s national efforts to support healthy, nutritious eating and combat obesity among schoolchildren, award-winning children’s writer Tina Powell, author of Samantha’s Silly-icious Sandwiches, will discuss healthy, fun, silly-icious sandwich ideas and distribute free books at Stone Harbor Public School, 275 93rd St, Stone Harbor, NJ 08247 at 9:30 a.m., October 3. Samantha is tired of boring lunches and takes matters into her own hands to create tasty, healthy, silly-icious alternatives such as a Smoked-Turkey-Swiss-Cheese-and-Spaghetti Sandwich with Honey Mustard and Spinach.
In addition to readings and book give-aways, each engaging presentation will include a peek inside an Imagination Box … a demonstration of how a book is created from story idea to publication … a fun, interactive Food Pyramid game … and more.
Boar’s Head is committed to providing families with healthy, nutritious eating alternatives, including the finest quality meat and cheese available, with no fillers, gluten, artificial flavors, colors or trans fat. Tina Powell’s book fits perfectly into Boar’s Head’s national outreach effort since it offers silly and delicious school lunch ideas using some of the healthy products that Boar’s Head features.
