COLD SPRING – The Lower Township Police Department advises that Oct. 26, the Cape May Hallowed Half Marathon will occur.
According to a release, between 7:30-9:30 a.m., Stimpson Lane in Cold Spring will be closed to all through traffic; it will only be available to local traffic.
Between 7:30-10:30 a.m. all citizens living along Stimpson Lane, Seashore Road, Bayshore Road, Sunset Boulevard, and Seagrove Avenue should expect some delays due to the event. They will be able to access their homes.
All local businesses will be accessible during the event.
Those living in the area of anticipated closure, expect minor delays or plan an alternate travel route during the morning hours.
Also as a reminder, do not put trashcans at the curb or park vehicles in the roadway during this time.
This request is to ensure the safety of participants, as well as spectators.
Lower Township’s portion of the run will be as follows:
During the half marathon runners will turn right onto Broadway staying on the shoulder heading towards Stimpson Lane where they will be directed across Seashore Road by Lower Township Police onto Stimpson Lane. The runners will proceed on Stimpson Lane to Bayshore Road. They will be directed to turn left while crossing onto the southbound shoulder of Bayshore Road. They will turn right onto Stevens Street. They will turn right onto Sunset Blvd., running the shoulder West to a turnaround point at Sunset Beach. They will travel East on Sunset Blvd. and turn right onto Cape Ave. After running through a portion of Cape May Point, runners will continue onto Lighthouse Blvd., before turning right onto Seagrove Ave. They will follow Seagrove Ave. until it intersects with Sunset Blvd. They will turn right onto Sunset Blvd., running the shoulder until they turn right onto 1st Ave. Please refer to attached run map.
