Bridges to Be Tested Oct. 9-10; Expect Brief Closures

STONE HARBOR – Cape May County engineering consultants will be performing New Jersey Department of Transportation-mandated safety tests on the 96th Street Bridge (CR 657) and the Ocean Drive Bridge (CR 619) Oct.9-10.
According to a release, the tests will require complete closure of the bridges to all vehicles and marine traffic for 15-minute intervals over a four-hour period from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The specific test dates are as follows:
Oct. 9: Ocean Drive Bridge (aka “free bridge”)
Oct. 10:, 96th Street Bridge
Additionally, inspectors will also be at those locations Oct. 11-12 performing other testing which may require brief bridge openings.
