VILLAS – Beginning June 4, the final paving of Bayshore Road will begin. Work activities will start around 4 p.m., with the milling of side street tie-ins from Wilde Avenue to Weber Avenue, followed by the installation of the final surface course paving around 7 p.m. The entire operation is expected to be finished by 7 a.m., June 5.
The northbound lane of Bayshore Road will be closed June 4 starting at 4 p.m., and remain closed through the night. Northbound traffic along Bayshore Road will be detoured at Greenwood Avenue, to Woolson Road, across Fulling Mill Road to Franklin Avenue, to Weber Avenue then back to Bayshore Road. During the period from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the southbound traffic will be maintained.
From 7 p.m. June 4 until 7 a.m. June 5, both lanes of Bayshore Road will be closed to through traffic from Weber Avenue to Wilde Avenue. Beginning at 7 p.m., the southbound traffic will be detoured to Weber Avenue, to Main Street, to Yuma Avenue, to Wilde Avenue then back to Bayshore Road. Around 7 a.m., June 5, Bayshore Road is expected to be reopened to traffic.
Residents whose homes front along Bayshore Road from Wilde Avenue to Weber Avenue are encouraged to move their vehicles out of the construction area if they need to leave their homes during the time of the construction activity. Residents will have emergency access to Bayshore Road, however, conditions will be far from ideal and wait times to access the passable portions of the roadway may be excessive during certain periods of the construction.
Please use caution when walking through the construction area, since visibility will be more limited than during the daytime hours. Residents are urged to avoid the construction area if possible.
