COURT HOUSE – At a July Middle Township Committee meeting, Mayor Michael Clark announced that Tractor Supply would locate a store in part of the retail space vacated by Kmart in Rio Grande.
The Herald reported Clark’s statement in an article July 22, “New Places in Old Spaces.” One township resident, Jesse Rynkiewicz, became concerned when a call he said he made to the Middle Township Construction Office gave him the impression that the township was unsure that the store was actually coming. He wrote and asked the Herald for confirmation.
A call to Tractor Supply reached a company spokesperson who indeed confirmed the company’s intention to open a store in that space in Rio Grande with a tentative opening date of June 8, 2019.
The company said that while they could not guarantee an opening date, they expected it to be in that time frame. The location is definitely on the list of new store openings for the next year, the spokesperson said.
