Who’s Running in the June 4 Primary Election?

COURT HOUSE – Registered Republicans and Democrats will select candidates for the November general election June 4. Polls will remain open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
As of May 24 in Cape May County, there were 27,598 Republicans, 15,796 Democrats, and 23,716 unaffiliated registered to vote, according to the County Clerk’s Office. Unaffiliated voters may cast a ballot as long as they declare a party before voting.   
Senate, vote for one, two-year unexpired term. 
Incumbent Democrat Robert “Bob” Andrzejczak is running unopposed from within the party. Andrzejczak is running under the slogan, “Cape May County Regular Democratic Organization.” 
Also unopposed from within the party is Republican Mike Testa. Testa is running under the slogan, “Cape May County Regular Republican Organization.” 
General Assembly, vote for two, two-year term. 
Incumbent Democrats R. Bruce Land and Matthew Milam are running unopposed from within the party. Both are running under the slogan, “Cape May County Regular Democratic Organization.” 
Also unopposed from within the party are Republicans Erik Simonsen and Antwan McClellan. Both are running under the slogan, “Cape May County Regular Republican Organization.” Simonsen is mayor of Lower Township and McClellan is a councilman in Ocean City. 
Freeholder, vote for two, three-year term. 
Running unopposed from within the party are incumbent Republicans Gerald Thornton and E. Marie Hayes, “Cape May County Regular Republican Organization.” 
Also unopposed from within the party are Democrats Stephen Barry and Elizabeth Casey, “Cape May County Regular Democratic Organization.” 
Municipal Races 
Candidates in municipal races are endorsed by their respective county party organizations unless otherwise noted. 
Dennis Township Committee, vote for two, three-year term. 
Democrat Carlos Morales. Republicans Zeth Matalucci, Matthew Cox. 
Middle Township Committee, vote for one, three-year term. 
Republican James Norris. Democrat Michael Clark. 
North Wildwood City Council 
Democrats filed no petitions for offices. 
Council-at-large, one, two-year term. 
Republican Salvatore Zampirri. 
City Council, vote for one, three-year term.
Republicans 1st Ward, Margaret Bishop; 2nd Ward, Edwin Koehler 
Stone Harbor Borough Council 
Democrats filed no petitions for offices. 
Council member, vote for two, three-year term. 
Republicans Jennifer Gensemer, Charles Krafczek, Spencer Hughes. 
Council member, vote for one, one-year unexpired term. 
Republican Reese Moore. 
Upper Township Committee, vote for two, three-year term. 
Republicans John Coggins, Hobart (Hobie) Young. 
Democrat Donald Oral. 
Woodbine Council, vote for two, three-year term. 
Democrats filed no petitions for offices. 
Republican Eduardo Ortiz.
