COURT HOUSE – Two-term Committeeman Tim Donohue received the unanimous endorsement of the Middle Township Regular Republican Organization as the GOP candidate for Middle Township Committee in 2017.
Donohue has served as both mayor and deputy mayor in his two terms on committee. He is the lone Republican voice on the three-person committee.
County Committee members heard from Donohue at the MTRRO monthly meeting at the Historic Courthouse Feb. 7.
“This is the third time I’ve come before you seeking this endorsement,” Donohue stated, according to a release. “I’m proud and humbled to have your continuing and wholehearted support. My mission remains the same; to foster open government that puts our taxpayers first and works to improve the quality of life for all of our residents.”
Donohue cited a long record of positive accomplishments in his two terms on committee. He highlighted five consecutive years of no increase in the municipal tax levy, improved services through the streamlining and reorganization of municipal services, the pending opening of the Robert Okie Wisting Recreation Complex in Rio Grande and the growth and modernization of the police department in his three years as director of Public Safety.
“I’m proud of the work we have accomplished together. The promises I have made are now promises I have kept,” Donohue stated. “But every election should be about a better future. I’m still eager to serve. My goal has always been to bring good people together to do good work. There is still much good work to be done.”
