Seven Mile

We have been taking a few days at a time this fall to do some traveling around the Garden State.
Recently Nancy and I visited the “Grounds for Sculpture” in Hamilton just outside Trenton.
This 35-acre sculpture park and museum is located on the site of the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds.
The beautifully landscaped grounds and historic, renovated buildings feature changing exhibitions of contemporary sculpture.
We went on to visit the towns of Lambertville and Frenchtown, located along the Delaware River.
They are known for their antique shops, architecture and fine restaurants.
We completed the loop around Hunterdon County by stopping in Flemington; home of more outlet stores than I could count.
There is so much to see and enjoy right here in New Jersey.
The most fascinating thing I learned on this recent trip is that Interstate 95 stops in New Jersey!
Yes, the main north -south highway on the east coast ends after entering New Jersey from Pennsylvania just above Trenton.
You won’t find I-95 on any New Jersey map again until it re-appears north of Perth Amboy and then enters New York at the George Washington Bridge.
Instead of federally funded Interstate Highways we have our infamous toll roads: the Garden State Parkway, the Atlantic City Expressway and the New Jersey Turnpike.
