On July 8, 2010 at approximately 1:45am, the Ocean City Police Department responded to an assault that had just occurred in the 1000 block of the Beach.
When police arrived at the scene they found the victim near the waters edge. The victim stated that she was walking north on the beach, from 11th Street, when she was approached by an unknown person, and assaulted.
The victim was transported to Shore Memorial Hospital by the Ocean City Fire Department, and was treated for minor injuries.
The Ocean City Police Department and Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office are asking for your help in finding the attacker. The only description provided by the victim was that her attacker was a white male, heavy set, with some facial hair and possibly dark hair.
If anyone observed anything unusual in the 1000 block of the boardwalk or beach on July 8, 2010 between 12:30am and 2:00am they should contact the Ocean City Police Department at (609)399-9111.
The follow-up investigation is being handled by members of the Ocean City Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutors Office.
