Kathy Clark, Principal Zoologist of the New Jersey’s Fish and Wildlife Endangered Species Program gives a lecture “The Peregrine Falcons in New Jersey,” at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 2 at the Upper Cape Branch of the Cape May County Library, 2050 Route 631, Petersburg.
The Peregrine Falcon, commonly referred to as the “Duck Hawk,” is one of the most exciting birds to see in the wild. It has the ability to reach speeds of 200 mph, making it the fastest animal in the world.
The Peregrine Falcon was nearly lost in the United States. New Jersey was a part of a concerted effort to bring the birds back, and now host 20 pairs of Peregrine Falcons ranging from natural sites in northern New Jersey to human-made structures along New Jersey’s coasts and cities.
Kathy Clark’s lecture highlights the falcons amazing recovery and their reoccupation of wild places sharing the latest information on these fascinating birds. Clark has worked with the Endangered Species Program for 25 years and received the Women and Wildlife Leadership Award for her work in 2007.

Children are invited to enjoy “Story Time with Miss Anita” at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays from March 4 through June 10 at the Cape May City Public Library, Ocean and Hughes sts.
Story time encourages socialization and reading eagerness in a relaxed fun atmosphere. Miss Anita offers stories, songs, puzzles, and crafts. Additionally, Ranger Matt from the Cape May Point State Park offers special programs for children throughout the year.

Gayle Stahlhuth, artistic director of The East Lynne Company, presents a “Teen Theatre Workshop” from 1-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at the Lower Branch of the Library, 2600 Bayshore Rd., Villas.
“Teen Theatre Workshop” offers a little bit of everything for those interested in theatre, such as, warm-up exercises to improve work, scene study, and playwriting. The workshop is limited to 25 teens ages 11 through 18.
