WOODBINE – The Borough of Woodbine has received an additional funding allotment in the amount of $8,000 towards renovations to the Woodbine Fire Station complex from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Small Cities Public Facilities program.
Previously the Borough had received $400,000 in funding from DCA for renovations and improvements that included reconstruction of the roof on both the 1903 and 1950s sections of the Fire Station and completing interior and exterior repair and upgrading to areas compromised as a result of roof conditions.
This additional funding will allow the Borough to fully complete the work as originally proposed.
“This total amount of funds, $408,000, has put the fire station in a long-term state of improvement,” added Mayor Pikolycky. “We thank the Department of Community Affairs for this much appreciated supplemental funding as well as for the initial grant. Without this funding, renovations would have placed a major financial burden upon our tax payers.”
