NORTH WILDWOOD – City Council approved a resolution Dec. 18 to establish a volunteer program for free snow removal for seniors (62 years of age or older) and disabled persons living full time in North Wildwood.

Application form to sign up for the snow/ice removal services. After completion, Participant Application Forms should be filed with the North Wildwood Administration Office, 901 Atlantic Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ 08260.
Students looking to obtain community service hours for school, or anyone wants to help the elderly and disabled in the community? North Wildwood is also seeking volunteers to sign up to shovel.

Volunteers must bring their own snow shovel, snow removal gear, and winter clothing.
Salt will be provided by the city, and shoveling will take place within 24 hours after it has stopped snowing.
A notice will be sent to all volunteers to meet at the North Wildwood Recreation Center after it has stopped snowing to break into groups and target specific properties/areas in town.
“After recognizing the large senior and disabled population we have in North Wildwood, and the difficulty they have with snow and ice removal due to the nature and danger of those activities, I realized something had to be done,” stated Mayor Patrick Rosenello. “That is why we started a volunteer program that will not only assist, but safeguard that vulnerable population from injury or worse,” the mayor concluded.
