‘Team Avalon’ Council Incumbents Seek Reelection

AVALON — Team Avalon 2009, consisting of incumbents Councilwoman Nancy Hudanich, Councilman Joe Tipping and Councilman Dave Ellenberg, submitted their petitions to run in the May 12 election here.
According to a release dated March 16, Team Avalon 2009 has 29 years of combined experience and knowledge to offer Avalon for the future. The team’s slogan for the campaign is “Re-Elect Experienced Dedicated Leadership.”
“This is a very important election for Avalon,” said Nancy Hudanich, who has been on council since 1989.
“We must continue to keep the quality of life people who live here deserve while we face the challenges of economic constraints and state and federal mandates. Dedication, experience and innovative decision making are a must as we implement ongoing infrastructure maintenance and enhancements, explore the use of green technologies and maintain Avalon’s Aa3 Moody bond rating through conservative financial planning.”
Joe Tipping’s council focus dovetails with his work experience in labor relations, Human Resource Management and Waste Management. He introduced weekend trash disposal and an evaluation of all borough non-union employees. He initiated the Cinderella curfew for kids 17-years-old and younger. Joe participates in numerous civic organizations.
Dave Ellenberg was elected to Borough Council in 2005 and serves on the Avalon Zoning and Planning Commission, represents council on the Avalon Chamber of Commerce and the Recreation Committee. During his four years on Borough Council he initiated the summer trolley program; served on the Cable Television Committee and met with legislators and government officials regarding beach replenishment.
Team Avalon 2009 has the vision that will keep Avalon the Jewel of the Jersey Coast though its focus on strategic planning, commitment to public safety, integrity with open and accountable government and award-winning community improvements.
