SEA ISLE CITY — A public meeting will be held Dec. 10, 7 p.m., at the Council Meeting Room in the Public Safety Building to discuss the final draft of the master plan re-examination.
The plan was approved by the Sea Isle City Planning Board on Nov. 26, and by law, it has to be discussed at a public meeting held by the planning board.
The master plan re-examination was conducted by the firm of Karabashian-Eddington Planning Group, which began work on the master plan in the spring of 2007. Director of Planning Design Thomas E. Eddington Jr. headed the re-examination under contract from the city. A re-examination is required every six years by the state.
Members of the planning board and Eddington will be present at the meeting to explain the proposed master plan and to answer questions. Among the recommendations that are proposed in the master plan involve land use and zoning, economic development, downtown improvement, parking, affordable housing, trolley service, and the development of the bay area.
“This is a very important meeting because the plan will chart the future of the city for the next six years,” said City Council President Michael McHale.
