PETERSBURG – Upper Township is seeking public input on the proposed bike path extension from the Beesley’s Point area of the municipality to the existing bike path in Dennis Township, which continues through Middle Township and ultimately ends at Sandman Boulevard/Ferry Road in Lower Township.
The extension was discussed among Upper Township Committee members Jan. 9.
Per Deputy Mayor Kim Hayes, “This process has been extremely difficult, and to find a feasible route point to point, as the path abuts wetlands, Pinelands, federally protected land, and other environmentally sensitive parcels, was really challenging.”
The proposal indicating actual routing is available on South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization’s website and Upper’s administration is actively seeking input from citizens to best reflect everyone’s needs and wants for the bike route.
