LOWER TOWNSHIP – Lower Township Council and members of the public will see a presentation on the proposed beach access upgrades at a Feb. 1 meeting at 7 p.m.
The firm of Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM) was authorized to do the design of beach access upgrades and will present a proposal to the township for the upgrade of 33 beach access paths between Douglass/Canal Park in North Cape May and Ocean Avenue in Villas. The proposal is to widen each path to a uniform eight feet, and create a more gradual slope at each entrance.
The goal of the project is meant to improve the safety for beach visitors, create some uniformity of appearance at beach entrances and be able to provide access for emergency services vehicles to the beach.
Mark Your Calendars: For those wanting to attend the meeting, the date is Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. at Lower Township Hall, located at 2600 Bayshore Road.
