STONE HARBOR – The Police Building is ready for use. Police Chief Thomas Schutta told council at the Nov. 20 work session that a punch list walkthrough would take place Nov. 27 with the department beginning to transition to the new space Dec. 3.
The new building is part of a phased project that will also see the first floor of the former police department facility renovated for use as part of a joint, interconnected complex. The renovations are scheduled to begin Dec. 17.
The parking lot behind the library and Borough Hall was lost for much of the construction period for the new building. Schutta said it had been resurfaced with striping scheduled for the last week of November. The parking lot will be reopened to the public Dec. 3.
