RIO GRANDE – A planned protest in Rio Grande regarding the death of George Floyd has been canceled, according to Middle Township’s Facebook page.
The event was scheduled to be held over three days. However, due to the risk of possible property damage, a post reads, the event was canceled by its organizer.
“Our dialogue will continue and we will work with the local NAACP and faith-based organizations to provide a safe and secure venue for those who wish to do so, to assembly in the near future,” read the post, written by Middle Township Mayor Timothy Donohue.
