COURT HOUSE – Middle Township Committee awarded contracts for the reconstruction of the Avalon Manor Fishing Pier and the building of Rio Grande Park July 15. The effort by officials to get both projects to the construction phase spanned the mayoral administrations of both Timothy Donohue and Michael Clark.
Donohue said the awards came as work on the Martin Luther King Center tennis courts was nearing completion and the planning for the bike path north was “moving forward.”
The committee also recorded a county Open Space grant for $1.3 million, which will support the Rio Grande Park project.
