COURT HOUSE – Middle Township will host a ribbon cutting ceremony July 11 at 3:45 p.m. at the Main Street & Pennsylvania Avenue junction of the Township’s bicycle path. The event celebrates the completion and grand opening of the path’s Phase 4, which extends between Indian Trail and Main Street.
With its newest leg, the path now runs approximately 5 miles from the Clarence and Georgiana Davies Sports Complex to South Dennisville Road near the Cape May County Zoo (Phase 1) through to Shellbay Avenue in Mayville (Phase 2), through to Indian Trail Road (Phase 3), and now down to Main Street in Whitesboro (Phase 4). Funding has been secured to complete Phase 5, which will extend the bicycle path to Satt Boulevard, where the Middle Township/Lower Township connector project ends. Additionally, the Cape May County Open Space Board has recommended $412,311 in funding to extend the bicycle path south to the Cape May Lewes Ferry Terminal. The project has received a total of $1.75 million in grant funding.
