WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Frank A. LoBiondo (R-2nd) on Sept. 5 announced three federal grants totaling $133,233 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Rural Development office for solar energy installation projects across South Jersey.
These funding awards are from the Rural Energy for American Program.
A fourth grant from USDA in the amount of $63,900 was awarded to the Wildwood Fire Company No.1.
“Whether it be promoting renewable energy projects in our communities to ensuring the safety and preparedness of our firefighters, I am proud to support these efforts and work closely with USDA on additional investments in South Jersey,” stated LoBiondo in a release.
The federal funding awards are as follows:
· $75,477 to the Khamayax LLC/Heart Hotel in Wildwood for the purchase and installation of a 107.9kW roof mount solar array.
· $63,900 to the Wildwood Fire Company No. 1 for the purchase of new turnout gear, Co cylinders, and a filling station.
· $25,784 to Geoscape Solar in Avalon for the purchase and installation of a 108.15kW roof mount solar array.
· $31,972 to the Full Season Farm in Monroeville for the purchase and installation of a 52.2kW ground mount solar array.
