PETERSBURG – Seaville resident Ralph Cooper asked Upper Township Mayor Richard Palombo and Township Committee Jan. 14 to consider improving the municipality’s holiday lighting for next year.
“When I look at what other communities are doing, even our neighbors such as Woodbine and Dennis, we really don’t have any lighting, wreaths on poles or the like,” said Cooper. “I remember, and it must be 15 years ago, in Tuckahoe every lamp pole was festive with holiday decorations.”
Palombo replied, “Yes, the decorations in Tuckahoe were great and were in association with the Christmas parade at that time which the business association took care of. We can look at what more can be done at what can be considered the ‘gateways’ to the township – through Tuckahoe from Route 49 and in Marmora at Roosevelt Boulevard.”
