PETERSBURG – Upper Township Business Administrator Scott Morgan informed Upper Township Committee Dec. 17 that he is working on improved public service for 911 calls. “We are working with the emergency dispatchers that when they interact with a caller, who understandably is under heightened senses and is not always calm, to ask the appropriate trigger questions to get the emergency vehicle to the residence as quickly as possible.
“Such a question could include ‘where do you pay your taxes’ rather than using ZIP codes which sometimes can result in a misdirection of the vehicle.
“Recently we had a situation with Ocean City and Belleplain where there was some confusion, and we are reviewing the tape to improve service and eliminate any mix-ups,” said Morgan.
