By Herald Staff

DEL HAVEN– On November 14, 2009, Middle Township Police arrested Candette Camerlengo, 39, of Del Haven, due to selling counterfeit designer handbags. Camerlengo had advertised in the newspaper that she was selling “Coach”, Gucci”, “Louis Vuitton” and “Chanel” handbags at prices well below that of store prices.
An investigation conducted by Officer Jen Delanzo of Middle Twp. Patrol Division, the Major Crimes Unit and the Street Crimes Unit uncovered several counterfeit handbags which the accused had sold to an undercover police officer.
The accused was attempting to pass these items as being original designer named purses, but they were found to be counterfeit.
Camerlengo was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Simulation and two counts of Theft by Deception. She was then released after the arrest. The remaining handbags were confiscated as evidence.
