Wildwood Crest Logo - Use This One

By Rachel Rogish

WILDWOOD CREST ─ Borough commissioners introduced an amendment July 11 to the borough alcohol code that provides for the sale of alcoholic beverages based on one-day permits. Celebrations such as weddings, anniversaries, grand openings, and “other tourist-related events” are included in the provision. According to the amendment, such events would “promote the tourism industry and advance the economic wellbeing of the borough.”
However, prohibitions and criteria will maintain “the character of the community as a family-friendly resort.” Permits will be issued by the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control and by consent of the borough. Zones for usage are included in the amendment.
