WILDWOOD CREST – The May 24 Borough Commissioners’ meeting for Wildwood Crest resulted in passage of ordinances to fund street curb access ramps of $50,000 and to amend the current Purchasing Code.
Purchase orders in excess of $500 per month may not be combined into a single order as per this ordinance. The ordinance also requires that any purchase that exceeds 15 percent of the then-current bid threshold shall be accompanied by three quotations when practicable.
Top Hot Spot
Commissioner Donald Cabrera noted that since the TripAdvisor 2017 Summer Vacation Value Report named Wildwood Crest as the Number One Summer Hot Spot, he would like to see appropriate signage at the entrance to the borough, and elsewhere to tout the prestigious designation.
He added that they would also discuss changing some of the other beach related signs that are long lists of “don’ts” to some other format. One suggestion was to try something like “leave nothing on the beach but footprints” or some other more agreeable sentiment that gets the point across.
Cabrera suggested a meeting with Borough Administrator Constance Mahon to think about options.
