COURT HOUSE – May 26: Cape May County reported 15 new COVID-19 cases today, raising the total to 594. The 15 cases reported are a two-day total, meaning the growth in cases remains moderate.
The county report shows Middle Township had four new positives and North Wildwood with three. Ocean City, along with Dennis and Lower townships each had two. Upper Township and West Cape May had one new case each.
There was a change in the number of individuals removed from quarantine, with that number increasing by 13, to 314. There were no new fatalities. Total active cases now stand at 233.
As state numbers improve, Gov. Phil Murphy today tweeted that high schools will be able to have in-person graduations in July, as long as they observe appropriate social distancing guidelines.
The state reported 703 new cases and 54 additional fatalities. Officials warned that the numbers could be distorted by lags in holiday weekend reporting. State totals are now 155,765 total cases and 11,191 COVID-19 associated deaths.
