CREST HAVEN – Freeholder Director Daniel Beyel announced on Thursday, Jan. 22 that the Cape May County 2009 budget, scheduled to be introduced on Tuesday, Jan. 27 will be introduced on Tuesday, Feb 10.
Since the Local Finance Board has revised the 2009 filing deadlines for local and county governments, the county’s auditor has recommended that the county delay introducing this year’s budget.
“Although we will have our public budget workshop as scheduled this Friday, Jan. 23 at 4 p.m. with the intention of closing budgetary gaps, we will hold off introducing the 2009 until next month. We want to be sure our budget conforms to any last minute changes in the state’s budget guidelines and requirements,” Beyel stated in a release.
Introduction of the 2009 county budget will take place Feb. 10, at 7 p.m.
The public hearing on the budget and its anticipated adoption will be March 10, also at 7 p.m.
All meeting will take place in the Freeholders’ Meeting Room at the County Administration Building located at 4 Moore Road, Court House.
