COURT HOUSE – Longtime volunteer fireman and local bank executive, Michael Clark, bid an emotional goodbye at his last meeting as a member of Middle Township Committee. Cark served six years on the governing body, three of them as mayor.
“I am not going anywhere,” Clark said. “I am still a volunteer fireman and I will continue to find other ways to serve the township,” he added.
Mayor Timothy Donohue and Committee member Theron “Ike” Gandy thanked Clark for his service. Donohue said Clark could “look back at the good work you have done” and feel proud of his service.
“When you win, everybody says they voted for you,” Clark said. “When you lose, everybody also says they voted for you.”
“I promised I would not get emotional,” he added. “I love this township.”
Clark thanked the administrators who served during his time in office, the township employees from whom he said he learned much and some members of the audience who “attend every meeting and keep us on our toes.”
