NORTH WILDWOOD – City Council passed an amendment to an existing ordinance Dec. 3 to help increase safety along the iconic boards. According to the amendment, the director of public safety may temporarily prohibit placing merchandise in the center of the boardwalk.
Permissions may be revoked during, but not limited to, special events, as approved by Mayor Patrick Rosenello and council, according to the ordinance. City Clerk Scott Jett said the measure is for safety reasons, i.e., runners and pedestrian traffic.
