Cape May to Announce Convention Hall Plans Tonight

CAPE MAY — This evening’s City Council meeting will start two hours earlier than normal at 5 p.m.
Council is expected to go into closed session for as long as two hours with the regular meeting slated to begin around 7 p.m. According to the meeting’s agenda, in closed session council will discuss Convention Hall contract negotiations, reorganization appointments, the East Cape May parking meter referendum petition and litigation: the City vs. Remington Vernick and Walberg.
The city has requested use of the auditorium at Cape May Elementary School on June 24 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and July 8 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for town meetings. It is believed the topic will be a different design for a Convention Hall.
